To turn printing notification on and off in Windows XP or Vista:
- In the default view, from the
Start
menu, selectControl Panel
. ClickPrinter and Other Hardware
, and then click thePrinters
icon in Vista, or thePrinters and Faxes
icon in XP.In Classic View, from theStart
menu, selectSettings
, and thenControl Panel
. Click thePrinters and Faxes
icon. - In the
Printers and Faxes
window, from theFile
menu (pressAlt
if you do not see the menus), selectServer Properties
. - Click the
Advanced
tab, and then check or uncheckNotify when remote documents are printed
to either enable or disable the printing notification. - Click
OK
to save the changes, and then close the dialog box.
To disable the network print notification balloon windows in Windows XP SP2 via registry:
* Use a registry editing tool to navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Settings
* Change the value with the following details:
Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: EnableBalloonNotificationsRemote
Value: 0
* Stop and restart the spooler service for the change to take effect
